[Labouring for hours in the pool has worked up a ferocious appetite in the stomach of Asahina, it's a fierce war zone that can only be resolved by stacking her plate to the gills with donuts. The pile is at least five times taller than the average plate serving should be. It wobbles as she leaves the room. Today, she will feast.]

[She balances the plate on one hand for better manipulation of the one in her mouth, setting the whole thing wobbling again. She chews, swallows, and looks confused. Practically all at once.]

Those doughnuts are meant to feed far more than just you, and yet you see fit to waltz out with nearly the entire selection!

[ does kanaya z-snap? kanaya doesn't know about z-snaps, but you better believe she would if she was ever initiated in the practice. ]

Oh no, that's not true!

[She points to the table and has to do a quick shuffle to nab a falling doughnut.]

I left one of each kind. [She places the half eaten donut on the top and holds one of the chocolate ones out.] But here, take this.

[ her eyes widen a moment, then narrow nearly to slits as her lips curl into a sneer. she looks at the offered donut as if she was being offered a severed head. ]

You think I can be so easily bribed? That paying me off will erase your rapacious overindulgence?

What kind of immoral rubbish do you take me for?!

[dunkingdonut]

[Asahina quakes, she didn't think the chocolate ones were that bad at all!]

You look like very moral rubbish!

No, that's not right. You just look very moral.

They are very good though, you should try it at least. I insist!

[ okay so maybe they look a little tasty. just a teensy bit. ]

If I do, will you promise to put at least...half of those back?

Can I keep the ones with sprinkles?

[ her eyes narrow, scrutinizing. ]

What percentage would you say are sprinkled?

[She is super highschool level swimming not numberology.]

[ kanaya looks thew stack over again, trying to estimate the quantity. something isn't adding up here. ]

That's what, one of them? Two? I see more than that even at a cursory glance.

Probably closer to forty. But if it's less than half, I suppose that should be allowable.

[She's putting another doughnut in her mouth and making is vanish with impressive speed.]

Maybe I didn't carry the one?

[She does mosey over to the table and put back five assorted doughnuts, her pile is still impressive but no longer a quaking tower.]

Do you want to eat some more with me?

[ well, she had put some back, so kanaya kind of won this one, right? even if she took more than her what was allotted to her, that should be okay if she's sharing. ]

I, uh. Very well, I suppose that should be alright. [ though a shame none of them are, like, bloody or anything. ]

[Yes! Doughnuts secured. She feels like a master negotiator.]

Oh, you should try one of the strawberry ones.

[She already had three so she can bare to part with it.]

[ she picks one carefully from the plate, making certain that it won't jeopardize the stability of the rest of the stack. the bite she takes is experimental, chewing long and slow, ruminating on the flavor as she does.

her results are inconclusive. ]

So yummy, right?

I love the white stuff they put on the top. When I was little I used to lick it off and pass the doughnut to my mum.

[She doesn't do that any more. Almost never.]

It's [ sweet, but also somehow bland despite that. bloodless. ] alright. Certainly worth the consumption, but nothing I'd go out of my way for without being offered, I don't think.

Aw, are you really sure?

I think they're great! The best I've had in ages. [Maybe she just hasn't tried the right one for her yet...

Asahina digs through the pile, fumbles one from the top but snatches it before it hits the ground. Must be a sign and she keeps it in her mouth as she finds the one she's looking for - caramel with sprinkles - and passes it expectantly to Kanaya. This one for sure.] I think you'll like this one even better!

[ she has to finish the strawberry one quickly, stuffing the whole thing in her mouth and immediately regretting how awkward it is to chew. it's not like she could have let it go to waste, though!

she looks the other one over as she continues chewing, and frowns at it after swallowing. she's not sure about the combination. ]

Is this caramel?

Uh huh!

[She crosses her fingers under the plate and takes a bite of the one in her mouth.] I think you should like it.

It seems like an odd combination. But I'm not sure it will end any better, unless...

[ she reaches in a pocket that she totally has somehow, rummaging for a moment before pulling out a weird key, horned and almost sinister looking, but she's gotta unlock her cards somehow. a card comes out of nowhere with a complicated series of locks on them, but her her key fits it perfectly and both disappear, leaving her holding a vial filled with an odd gold potion.

she pops off the cap and uses an eyedropper to drizzle the thick fluid over the donut before replacing the lid and placing it in a new card, which also arrived out of nowhere and suddenly locks itself in a way that could be considered gratuitous. ]

There, that should be much better!

[What the shoot was that?? Aoi looks at it, perplexed, opens her mouth to ask.

Shuts.

Opens again.]

Um?

[Eloquent at all times.

Things don't just disappear.]

[ kanaya's a little caught up in her blood-drizzled donut to notice asahina's distress until her mouth is full. this leads to a few seconds of awkward staring as she chews it down to a point where she can politely respond. ]
