What: I need to practice playing this fine lady! Either use the situation below or make something up for yourself! I will be happy to go with the flow.
Who: Me and you, you and me, both of us together~

[Labouring for hours in the pool has worked up a ferocious appetite in the stomach of Asahina, it's a fierce war zone that can only be resolved by stacking her plate to the gills with donuts. The pile is at least five times taller than the average plate serving should be. It wobbles as she leaves the room. Today, she will feast.]

[ well, she had put some back, so kanaya kind of won this one, right? even if she took more than her what was allotted to her, that should be okay if she's sharing. ]

I, uh. Very well, I suppose that should be alright. [ though a shame none of them are, like, bloody or anything. ]

[Yes! Doughnuts secured. She feels like a master negotiator.]

Oh, you should try one of the strawberry ones.

[She already had three so she can bare to part with it.]

[ she picks one carefully from the plate, making certain that it won't jeopardize the stability of the rest of the stack. the bite she takes is experimental, chewing long and slow, ruminating on the flavor as she does.

her results are inconclusive. ]

So yummy, right?

I love the white stuff they put on the top. When I was little I used to lick it off and pass the doughnut to my mum.

[She doesn't do that any more. Almost never.]

It's [ sweet, but also somehow bland despite that. bloodless. ] alright. Certainly worth the consumption, but nothing I'd go out of my way for without being offered, I don't think.

Aw, are you really sure?

I think they're great! The best I've had in ages. [Maybe she just hasn't tried the right one for her yet...

Asahina digs through the pile, fumbles one from the top but snatches it before it hits the ground. Must be a sign and she keeps it in her mouth as she finds the one she's looking for - caramel with sprinkles - and passes it expectantly to Kanaya. This one for sure.] I think you'll like this one even better!

[ she has to finish the strawberry one quickly, stuffing the whole thing in her mouth and immediately regretting how awkward it is to chew. it's not like she could have let it go to waste, though!

she looks the other one over as she continues chewing, and frowns at it after swallowing. she's not sure about the combination. ]

Is this caramel?

Uh huh!

[She crosses her fingers under the plate and takes a bite of the one in her mouth.] I think you should like it.

It seems like an odd combination. But I'm not sure it will end any better, unless...

[ she reaches in a pocket that she totally has somehow, rummaging for a moment before pulling out a weird key, horned and almost sinister looking, but she's gotta unlock her cards somehow. a card comes out of nowhere with a complicated series of locks on them, but her her key fits it perfectly and both disappear, leaving her holding a vial filled with an odd gold potion.

she pops off the cap and uses an eyedropper to drizzle the thick fluid over the donut before replacing the lid and placing it in a new card, which also arrived out of nowhere and suddenly locks itself in a way that could be considered gratuitous. ]

There, that should be much better!

[What the shoot was that?? Aoi looks at it, perplexed, opens her mouth to ask.

Shuts.

Opens again.]

Things don't just disappear.]

What???

[ kanaya's a little caught up in her blood-drizzled donut to notice asahina's distress until her mouth is full. this leads to a few seconds of awkward staring as she chews it down to a point where she can politely respond. ]

Is there a problem?

[Asahina's mind is still catching up on things that are vanishing but it's short circuited enough that she just points at the doughnut in Kanaya's hand and says:] No!

[ kanaya just stares at asahina's finger, the meets her eyes for a second before glncing back down at her donut. this has all gotten very awkward. ]

Well...you, uh, were right. This one is very good.

[But what was that?]

Yes.

[Maybe this lot of caramel sprinkle doughnuts gave her special powers???

Maybe it's enchanted????

Maybe it's a new technology that is going to destroy everything!

Fast as lightning - she reaches out and takes the doughnut, eyes going wide.]

Is that blood?

[ hey! she was enjoying that. ]

Um...yes.

Oh.

[Blood!!!]

But... Why?

[ she reaches out to try to pry the donut back. the smell of blood is in the air now and feel that pressure in her throat, she just wants to finish it. ]

Because it's the only thing that holds flavor for me anymore.

[Excuse Asahina's slack jawed horrified expression - she's just thinking about all the delicious flavours in food. She's bitten her tongue before, she knows what blood tastes like.

She reaches out a hand to grip Kanaya's forearm.]

I am so sorry.

[ kanaya just gives her a funny look. is this a tragedy? is it something she should be expressing sorrow over? she can't really tell anymore. it's too bad it hadn't happened a sweep ago, in different circumstances. she could've been unambiguously ecstatic over it. ]

It...happens. [ or, well..happened. ]

[She nods. Slowly. That... makes sense? Maybe? She picks her jaw up and morphs her mouth into a firm line.]

I will enjoy doughnuts in your stead.

[ didn't they have some kind of arrangement before? maybe this one was better, just letting her eat kanaya's share. it wasn't like they really mattered all that much to her personally, she doesn't enjoy them much.

did she just fall for a logic trap? we just don't know. ]

I'm alright finishing this one still, if it's all the same to you. But feel free to do so, whether for my sake or not.

Of course! I'll do my best.

[She nods happily. Now that's sorted, she's happy. She's got her plate of doughnuts, caramel with sprinkles and all, and she has a new duty to consume doughnuts for those less fortunate than her. What more could she ask for?]

[ it's true, she's been tricked, but if she's going to be the only one who cares, then maybe it isn't worth caring about. ]
