[it's always kinda distressing when you're missing a wrench. at least, it is for spanner; he tries to avoid doing the task that specifically requires the missing bit of equipment, but finds he really can't seem to work his way around it. he can't find the wrench, either. it's not on the floor, or on the table, or accidentally in his overalls, or in the half finished mosca skeleton sitting in front of him.]

Huh, [he says. this is as frustrated as spanner gets.]

[dires]

[Komaeda caught a lucky break, there he was just thinking a wrench is exactly what he needed to finish his latest project and then there one was lying right out in the open!

He's just returning it now, right where he found it, right where... haha, exciting! A blond person building something. Komaeda leans over into his space as he peers at the mosca.] Wow... that looks like something only a genius could understand, someone like me can't possibly know what it's for.

[moscas]

[spanner glances over his shoulder at the advancing person and then does a double take because the boy looks like just like byakuran. he isn't, however. he looks younger and he doesn't have a tattoo on his cheek, or a millifiore jacket, but he's smiling in the way byakuran smiles right before he tells you something quite horrible.]

Who are you? [he asks, pulling his half lollipop out of his mouth after a moment's consideration.] How did you get in here?

[dires]

[He could answer those questions. He could also chuckle and poke the robot. The guy's lollipop looks delicious.

He tucks his hands into his hoodie, shrugs.] Me? I'm nobody. I'm the chewing gum that you can't scrape off your shoe... No I'm even lower than that. [Ah, that's an answer isn't it? Oh well.]

Were you expecting someone else?

[moscas]

[hey man what did that robot ever do to you]

I was expecting my boss, [he says, and twirls the lollipop stick around in his fingers. the boy didn't answer either of his questions properly. he tries again.] how did you get in here?

[dires]

[If it breaks he'll try and fix it but it's not even done so he wouldn't know where to start. If you fix something you broke when it wasn't done does that mean you have to finish it? Maybe breaking it would help things then. He would have to brush up his mechanicking and then he could prove... but it hasn't even broken. How sad.]

The same way your boss would, I suppose.

[moscas]

Okay, [he says, and frowns. his boss would have got in by flashing a couple standard security passes, and eyeballing a guard or two. one does not simply walk into millefiore.]

Don't touch my robot. [he can see you eyeing it up over there pal] It's not finished.

[dires]

[He lifts his hands off. Easy, easy, he's not going to hurt the robot really, it's kinda cute.]

Huh, why isn't it finished? [Wrench still in his pocket probably has something to do with it, but he's keeping that to himself.]

[moscas]

[he stares at him for a moment longer, then pops his lollipop back into his mouth, turning back to the mosca]

I lost a wrench.

[dires]

[Komaeda tilts his head. Maybe this guy can fix it without the wrench? Overcome the obstacle to reach new heights.]

Do you make robots a lot?

[moscas]

It's my job, [he says, and pings his fingernail against the metal framework] I'm the Millefiore's engineer.

[dires]

[He pauses to regroup, takes a stab,] That sounds like a military group? [It's not technically a question but... it's totally a question, scum like him can't presume.]

[moscas]

It's a sub-section of the Italian mafia, so I guess it's kind of like a military group. [which leads him back to the point he had been trying to make before:]

You shouldn't be down here.

[dires]

[That's shocking! And Komaeda is so shocked! How the hell did he just wander in here without getting caught by the guards? He sighs and relaxes, half smile back on his face.]

I suppose I'm a bother wandering around down here, aren't I?

[moscas]

Yes. [& that's komaeda's cue to leave. but spanner has a sneaky feeling it's not gonna be that easy]

[dires]

[He clutches at his shoulders, he's such a burden, whatever will he do,] What if someone like me gets more lost trying to find the exit? Stumbling through the hallways inconveniencing even those people who I smile at... [He doesn't want to go, the base is nicely heated, outside is not.]

[moscas]

I'll take you back. Or I could call somebody down here to come and forcibly eject you.

[he should have raised the intruder alert a long time ago, really]

[dires]

[Aw c'mon, he's barely intruding, he's like, gently probing, that's it! He laughs nervously,] Do whatever you think is best for a piece of garbage. [He takes the wrench out of his pocket and puts it on the bench.]

[moscas]

[hey!]

Hey. That's my wrench. [he picks it up, turns it over in his fingers]

Did you find this?

[dires]

Ha ha... I suppose I did. [He found it when he picked it up and carried it off at least.]

[moscas]

Oh.

Wow, thanks. I really needed this. [you're alright tiny byakuran dude]

[dires]

Don't you think that relying on tools makes you worse? [Not looking at the dude. Just talking, chilling, not meaning anything by it at all.]

[moscas]

[spanner turns back to his metal exo-skeleton, slots the wrench around a bolt and starts to tighten it up]

Well, I kinda need the tools. I can't do much with metal with my bare hands.

[believe him he has tried]

[dires]

[What a disappointment. Has he even tried?] But you've come so far and you're just stopped cold by lack of a piece of metal...

[moscas]

[he's tried so hard]

Well, I was stopped for now. I would have gone out and got a new wrench if I hadn't been able to find the old one.

[probably. or he would have started over.]
