[Asahina is bent down with her nose practically dusting the sand on the beach. There is a bug. On a leaf. HMMMMMMM.] What's your name, little mister?

[It's kind of silly, bugs don't have names but if this one did she thinks it would be a Howard.

In an attempt to get it onto her finger she pokes at it.

The tiny thing zaps her!

She sucks on her finger and backs away, shocked. What kind of rude bug does that?]

[violet is sitting for now, the fingers of one hand tangled idly in her fridge as she curls her hair round and round. she is thinking of the best way to create a device that might turn over a large rock for you, so you could examine the many kinds of bugs that lived beneath it. klaus would love something like that.

she smiles, and slips her hand into her pocket for the long thin ribbon used to tie back her hair; and finds it missing. she pats herself down distractedly, standing up and glancing in the trampled grass beneath her feet.]

Hmm, [she says aloud, then glances around as somebody else makes a similar sort of noise nearby. there is another girl behind her, staring rather accusingly at what seems to be a plant, and holding out her index finger to it.]

Hello. [she starts, politely, and decides to leave it at that until she's certain she hasn't frightened whoever is there.]

[Careful waiting or not, Asahina is too busy sucking on her finger and scolding the bug to notice her approach.

She twists around, knotting her feet and landing firmly on her butt.

Picking herself up she dusts the sand that collected there off.]

Hi! Are you one of the campers?

Yes. [violet says, and tucks her hair behind her ear curiously, holding out a hand to the strange girl before her.]

My name is Violet, and I'm here with my siblings, Klaus and Sunny. It's very nice to meet you.

[Asahina pauses for a moment before engaging her brain and shaking her hand vigorously.]

I'm Asahina. It's very nice to meet you too. [She releases Violet's hand and points to the spot she was inspecting before; what was a bug filled leaf is now an empty leaf.] The bug zapped me. [It was a stick bug - or a mantis bug or was it one of those with lots of legs? She can't remember.]

[violet isn't sure if she especially wants to go searching around for a bug that zaps people. she peers politely down around her feet all the same.]

I've never heard of a bug that zaps people before! I think I'd much rather stay away from something like that. You haven't seen a red hair ribbon though, have you? I've lost mine.

[dunkingdonut]

I think I've heard of them from Austria? They have lots of nasty things there. But I don't know what something from Austria would be doing here..

[She looks around - ribbon, where has she seen a ribbon - has she seen a ribbon?]

I think a squirrel might have had one? Oh, but I didn't know it was yours.

[buildelaire]

Oh, [violet says, and looks disappointed, glancing over her shoulder and then around at the surrounding trees.]

Well, maybe they'll have some up at camp I could borrow.

I'm sure they will! Do you want me to help you find one. I'm not sure but I might have one in my pack! [Her mum packed her bag. Otherwise she would have forgotten all sorts of important things.]

Or we could wrestle that squirrel. Do you think squirrels know the rules?

[buildelaire]

Oh, that's okay. I'm sure I could easily make do with something else.

[she can't help smiling at asahina, rocking back on her heels.] I don't know. My brother would probably know something about that. He's very well read.

Is he one of those always nose in a book types? I'm more a always a foot in the water type, you don't get well exercised with a book!

[If something that isn't a ribbon would do... hm. Nothing springs to her mind but she spins around lightly on her heel and plants her foot in the direction of the cabins. She'll find something for Violet for sure.

She's plodded a good couple of steps before she realises she's forgotten something and turns to see where Violet is.]
